Lousiana Men

Guiding you through the swamps of Louisiana based repertoire!

"Dishing up just as easily rhythm'n'blues, as well as zydeco and a capella gospel music, these guys provide plenty ingredients for a tasty night out. Topped up with flavours of fabulous harmony vocals , spicy percussion and Dobro-hot-sauce, their concert is a true delight…"

While touring with American musicians in the eighties, Hans de Vriesgot nicknamed 'homesick'. His band The Backstabbers released three albums, including Road Rockin' on Music & Words. In 1991, the very successful New Orleans & Zydeco group Louisiana Radio was formed. They released five albums (three on Music & Words) and toured throughout Europe. 'Homesick' shared the stage with names like Willy Deville , Dr John and Los Lobos .With his new band De Vries takes his audience all around Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta again. This time with a more direct, semi- acoustic approach. Alex Siegers, who is also a real fine leadsinger, does all the percussion. His trophy is an album he made with Allen Toussaint in New Orleans in 1993. Toon Ekkers, completes this winning team of friends, with the pleasant sensation of his Texas telecaster.

Homesick & The Louisiana Men bring you a spicy gumbo of swing-blues, New Orleans grooves and cajun & zydeco music !

In 2002 the CD Bahia was recorded live in France.

"what a lot you can do with so little"
"these voices !"
"raunchy musicianship"
"and it's just three of them"
